RESIDUAL
A downloadable game for Windows
The past has left something behind
Residual is a short (20-30min), atmospheric psychological horror game about memory, trauma, and guilt.
You play as Elias, who's drawn back to his childhood home after years of repression.
Explore, solve environmental puzzles, and piece together Elias’ story.
Play it like it's 2003
Residual is inspired by early 2000s titles such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil. It mixes low-poly PSX-style graphics with modern engine features, while keeping the limitations of old hardware in mind.
About This Project
Residual is my first game project — a short experience made to explore game development, design, and atmosphere.
Originally meant to be a longer game, I’ve decided to wrap it up early and leave it at the demo.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, even if it’s just a sentence. Every bit of feedback helps me grow and improve my future projects.
Thanks for checking it out and for supporting me!

NICE
Thank You so much for playing mate! I noticed a few bugs thanks to your gameplay and also added a little hint for the fusebox puzzle as I think it's a bit too difficult.
Unfortunately this is unplayable. The mouse camera is stuttering and the viewing angle is sticking, and keyboard movement is impaired. Notes are blurry, can't read them much. Windows 11 Pro.
I am sorry to hear that. I looked into it and it should be fixed now. In terms of the text being too blurry, you can change the visual style from Retro to HD in the settings. The Retro Resolution is indeed quite low but more accurate.
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
